Privacy Policy

SaiGon Match (Android package: saigonmatch.com.vn) is a free social matching, chat, discovery, and community app for adults. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use and share it, and your rights regarding that data. It applies to the SaiGon Match mobile application operated by developer account duongnguyen1263.

By creating an account or using SaiGon Match, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please stop using the app and delete your account. For any privacy-related questions, contact us at supportsaigonmatch@gmail.com.

Location Data Disclosure

This app accesses and collects LOCATION data (precise GPS and approximate location) from your device. Location data is used to power proximity features including nearby user discovery, radar scanning, distance display, and crossing-paths matching. This disclosure is required by Google Play policy.

SaiGon Match accesses the following location permissions:

  • ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION (Precise GPS Location): The app accesses your precise GPS location when you use the Proximity Radar, nearby user discovery, or crossing-paths features. This data is used to find users near your physical location and calculate distances.
  • ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION (Approximate Location): Used as a fallback for city-level user discovery when precise GPS is not available or permission is denied.
  • ACCESS_BACKGROUND_LOCATION (Background Location): Optionally collected when you grant “Allow all the time” permission, used only to deliver nearby-match alerts when the app is in the background. This permission is entirely optional and can be revoked at any time.

Location data collected by this app is:

  • Stored as a geohash (not raw coordinates) in our secure Firebase Firestore database
  • Used exclusively for proximity matching and distance-based features within SaiGon Match
  • Never sold to third parties
  • Never used for advertising profiling
  • Deleted when you delete your account

1. Data We Collect

We collect only the data necessary to operate our services. Depending on the features you use and the permissions you grant, we may collect:

  • Account & Profile Data: name, username, email address, sign-in provider IDs (Google, Facebook), profile photo, date of birth, gender, bio, education, occupation, hometown, and relationship preferences.
  • User-Generated Content: social posts, comments, reactions, private and group chat messages, photos, voice notes, and virtual gifts.
  • Precise Location (GPS): collected only when you grant the permission, and used for proximity radar, nearby user discovery, crossing-paths matching, hotspot recommendations, and distance display. Stored as a geohash in Firestore — not as raw coordinates.
  • Approximate Location: used as a fallback for city-level matching when precise GPS is unavailable or not permitted.
  • Background Location: collected only if you explicitly grant the “Allow all the time” location permission. Used solely to deliver proximity notifications and nearby-match alerts when the app is not in the foreground. This is entirely optional and revocable at any time in device settings.
  • Camera & Microphone: photos and videos for profile and chat media; real-time audio and video streams for in-app VoIP calling.
  • Device & Technical Data: device model, OS version, IP address, crash reports, diagnostics, push notification tokens, and advertising identifiers (used by Google AdMob).
  • AI Matchmaker Input: your natural-language search prompts, recent conversation history with the AI assistant, and your GPS coordinates (if permitted) when you use the optional AI Matchmaker feature.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use collected data only for the following purposes:

  • Create and authenticate your account and maintain secure sessions.
  • Provide core app features: messaging, group chat, media sharing, VoIP calls, social posts, and notifications.
  • Power location-based features: proximity radar, nearby matching, geohash discovery, and distance calculations.
  • Operate the AI Matchmaker to generate personalized match suggestions based on your prompts.
  • Serve advertisements via Google AdMob (personalized or non-personalized).
  • Detect and prevent fraud, spam, and abusive behavior; moderate content; and keep the community safe.
  • Improve app performance, fix bugs, and develop new features.

3. Background Location — Prominent Disclosure

SaiGon Match collects location data — including while the app is closed or not in use — to power nearby user discovery, proximity radar, hotspot alerts, crossing-paths matching, and distance-based safety features. Location (including background location) is only collected after explicit user permission is granted and is never used for advertising.

Background location collection requires your explicit “Allow all the time” permission. It is fully optional. You can change or revoke this permission at any time: Device Settings → Apps → SaiGon Match → Permissions → Location → Allow only while using the app.

4. Location Data: Precise vs. Approximate

Google Play requires us to distinguish clearly between the types of location data we access:

  • Precise Location (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION): Used when you actively engage proximity radar, “Chạm Sóng” nearby detection, crossing-paths, or hotspot features. Coordinates are converted to a geohash for storage in Firestore and are not shared with third parties beyond Firebase infrastructure. Also transmitted to our backend (in encrypted form) when you use the AI Matchmaker with location enabled, solely for distance-based match ranking.
  • Approximate Location (ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION): Used as a fallback for city-level discovery when precise GPS is unavailable or denied.
  • Background Location (ACCESS_BACKGROUND_LOCATION): Optional. Collected only with explicit user permission. Used exclusively for proximity notifications and nearby-match alerts when the app is in the background or closed. Never used for advertising profiling.

5. Third-Party AI Service — User Data Disclosure

SaiGon Match includes an optional AI Matchmaker feature powered by a third-party AI service (OpenRouter API, model: Google Gemma). In compliance with Google Play’s User Data policy requirements for third-party AI integrations:

  • What is sent: When you use the AI Matchmaker, the following data is transmitted from your device to our secure backend server, which then calls the OpenRouter API:
    • Your search prompt (natural-language text you type)
    • Up to 8 recent messages from your current AI conversation session
    • Your precise GPS coordinates (only if location permission is granted), used for distance-based match ranking
    • A list of user IDs to exclude from results
  • What is NOT sent: Your email address, phone number, password, payment information, government ID, full profile photo, or any sensitive personal identifiers are never transmitted to any AI service.
  • Limited use: Data transmitted to OpenRouter is used solely to generate match suggestions in response to your query. It is not used to train AI models, build user profiles for advertising, sold, or shared beyond what is required to return results to you.
  • Consent: Use of the AI Matchmaker is entirely optional and requires no additional permissions beyond those already granted. You may use all other app features without ever using the AI Matchmaker.
  • On-device AI: Image content moderation (NSFW screening) is performed entirely on your device using TensorFlow.js before any upload. No image data is sent to any external AI service for moderation purposes.

6. Data Sharing & Service Providers

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the following trusted service providers, strictly to operate the app:

  • Firebase & Google Cloud: authentication, Firestore database, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, and push notifications (FCM).
  • Google Sign-In / Facebook Login: authentication and account linking only. We receive provider IDs, not passwords.
  • VideoSDK / WebRTC: real-time audio and video call infrastructure. Call tokens are generated server-side; the API key is never exposed to the client.
  • Google AdMob: in-app advertising. AdMob may collect advertising identifiers. You can opt out of ad personalization in device settings: Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization.
  • OpenRouter (AI Matchmaker only): processes AI Matchmaker queries as described in Section 5 above. Used only when you actively engage this optional feature.

7. Data Security

We protect your data with industry-standard safeguards: SSL/TLS encryption for all data in transit, Firestore security rules, Firebase App Check to prevent unauthorized API access, server-side secret management (API keys are never exposed to clients), and on-device NSFW AI moderation before any media upload. No system can guarantee absolute security, but we apply best practices throughout our infrastructure.

8. Data Retention

  • Active accounts: data is retained while your account exists.
  • Deleted accounts: all personal data is permanently deleted within 30 days of a verified deletion request.
  • Safety & moderation logs: minimal data (ban records, content moderation flags) may be retained indefinitely to prevent repeat abuse and protect the community.
  • Automated backups: purged on standard rotation cycles.

9. Account Deletion & Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time.

To delete your account and all associated data:

Deletion requests are processed within 30 days. Deleted data cannot be recovered.

10. Children’s Privacy

SaiGon Match is strictly for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. Age is verified at registration; users who enter a date of birth indicating they are under 18 are blocked from creating an account. If we discover a minor has accessed the app, their account and all associated data are permanently deleted immediately. Parents or guardians who believe their child has created an account should contact us immediately at supportsaigonmatch@gmail.com.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our app or applicable laws change. We will notify users of material changes via in-app notification. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the app after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
